  • BCE pocket leathers

Hello all. I'm trying to find the old type of dark pocket leathers for my BCE Westbury (full size).

    http://www.snookercentre.co.uk/produ...umbs/TP251.jpg

I can only find the light colored leather ones, while the snookercentre (from the above link) doesn't respond.

So my question to all you snooker fans, do you know of a store that sells the older type. Or if anybody is from Gateshead, Tyne and Wear can you tell them to contact me?

    Thanks so much!

I don't know. Are there any BCE's left in the UK? I only know of two clubs here that have them.

I did finally find a place that has the light leather molded BCE pocket leathers. The advice I got is to soak them in tea to make them dark. Has anybody tried this? Or should I keep on looking?

the Rileys ones I have dont have a finish on them so they would take a shoe dye easily.

I agree with slasher. Just get some leather dye. Girls do this all the time with their shoes. A decent cobbler should put you right. I doubt if tea would do any damage. The tannin in it is what is used in tanning leather. Also I believe leather is slightly alkaline so the indicator in tea would darken on contact with the leather. Try it on a bit of leather that is scrap though before you drop your new leathers in the teapot.

Thanks for responding to this old thread. It's been years. I've gotten used to the light BCE leathers. They don't fit right, but haven't felt like making my own from fresh sheep hide or something.
