Hello all
I'm trying to put together a database of all the past results in the World Snooker Championship which I will put on the internet soon. I'm almost there, just missing a few bits of information. I accept some results may just be lost forever, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
I need the following information:
The first names of the following players (years they competed in brackets)
H. Terry (1936)
C. Read (1938)
H. Laws (1939,1950,1951)
E. Newman (1947,1948)
H. Francis (1947,1948,1949)
J. Lees (1947,1952,1953)
H. Stokes (1955)
The following scores:
Joe Davis beating Willie Smith (SF 1938)
Sydney Smith beating Fred Davis (SF 1938)
Walter Donaldson beating Albert Brown (SF 1953)
Jackie Rea beating H. Stokes (R1 1955)
John Pulman beating Alex Brown (SF 1955)
A number of results from 1952
The ones I know:
R1: Alec Brown 39-22 Rex Williams, Jackie Rea 38-32 J. Lees, Albert Brown 32-27 John Pulman
SF: Walter Donaldson 31-30 Albert Brown
F: Fred Davis 38-35 Walter Donaldson
Anybody know any others?
And finally:
The frames scores in John Pulman's 5-2 matches win against Fred Davis in the 1966 final
I have got (3-2,4-1,4-1,2-3,3-2,4-1) - but that's only 6, I'm missing a Davis win.
Can anybody help?
Thankyou for your time
