  • Do you prefer someone announcing your break each pot you made?

Do you like you break being shouted out by your opponent (or ref) ?

Yes i do, otherwise ime doing it in my head constantly (and ime sure its putting me off being a better player)
Trouble is my mate doesnt do it all the time, so i dont always trust him to get it right

Yes, I do like it - especially as we play without referrees. That way you know someone (usually your opponent or whover is "on deck" to play next is paying close attention to your score, leaving you free to concentrate on the shot.

I trust my cheering section to do that.

I don't mind as long as my opponent actually knows what the break is. If you are concentrating you should not hear your opponent or referee calling the break.

Agreed JRC. I have a nightmare about me knocking in my first 50 and turning to my mate to hear him say, "How much was that then?"

Well i beat my mate 5-0 last night to get my own back , altho to be fair he did know the break score each time, but i still had to count myself just in case, had a couple of low 40's as well :snooker:

theres no need for it since my opponent only has to be able counting till 1

yes, would loved the break to be called out, but you have the problem when people can't even count, happens all the time...

Even worse is when your opponent isn't counting aloud, you knock a fifty+ break in, turn to him/her and say 'how many was it?' and get a blank look and a shrug of the shoulders in reply.
Or, just as worse, you get the reply: 'well ... ermm .. you had a black .. or was it two blacks?... or were they from the previous break?...ermm... you definitely had two blues and some baulk colours... it was at least thirty... '
It's a wonder I've never mounted anybody atop their cue.
