my best friend (well truly not a snooker fanatic) is awesome.

1, telephoning while my AND HIS OWN shots.
2, putting fouls made by me on the scoreboard to his points.
3, almost never respots the colours. sometimes i simply play on without the colour
4, leaves the fuc*** chalk all over the table.
5, never cleanes the table after screws
6, asking me every 2-3 shots how to play to get on to the next colour.
7, as often mentioned above.. never knows how's my or even his own break

    theres a lot more

Played a game of snooker against a scotsman yesterday. Every time I got down to a shot all I could hear was the noisy and disgusting chewing of his gum. He couldn't understand what the problem was. Never finished that game and sat at the bar until he left.

            The Break off!

What do you think about someone breaking off by smashing the pack open? I for one do not agree with this. To the point that should a sizeable break be made, by either person it should be disregarded! Am i right by saying this? I think so, bloody cheats!!!
            Cheap and Cheerful! 😄

              no point in this.

the frame becomes very scrapy most of the times.

i prefer playing an attacking safety then.

but that always depends on my opponent...
against "weaker" players i will go for such shots at the first possibility.

Besides the usual distractions allready mentioned I get annoyed when my opponent keeps calling misses on difficult fluke-snookers, that I've failed to escape only by an inch. I never do this myself if the snooker was doubtless unintended and the attempt to escape a serious one.
Ten reds and not a colour...

They're obviously playing a different game there.

And when you do get a full pocket (and it does happen, with the best will in the world), people then remove the reds to get the black out ... and then put the reds back in the same pocket! Aarghh!

Taking a mobile phone call without having the decency to at least leave the playing room.

Walking via the nearest route to the bar/toilet/wherever, even if that means walking through the middle of the room rather than around the edge so as to disrupt as few games as possible. I think this is often done through lack of thought rather than deliberate action, but honestly how much thought does it take?!

As mentioned above, an opponent starting to walk around the table to pipck out your colour before you've actually struck the cue-ball. It increases the chances of missing the pot by about 50%!

Playing on just to get a 25 clearance despite being 50 behind – when I'm paying half the table fee. (I have no problem if the player is actually going to go for snooker.)

People speaking to each other loudly enough that I can hear the whole conversation from five tables away.

Losing count of the break and not having the decency to immediately say, Hang on what are you on?, rather than waiting till the end of the break and saying, Dunno!

Am I a miserable bugger or what?!

Yep the worst instance I had was a deciding frame (only best of 3 but still a decider nonetheless).. I needed a clearance to stay in the match. My opponent wasn't counting my break which was 3 red 2 pinks... then he suddenly states '8'. Think I posted a thread on here at the time, but it was so gutting as he effectively conned me out of the frame. I'd urge anyone if their opponent isn't announcing your score, to state your score out loud.

I also remember once I was walking back from the toilets, about to walk past a table (two guys having a close match) I could see one of them was about to take his shot, so I stopped, nice and polite - but unfortunately as he was then playing his shot (straightish black of the spot) the door I had just come through was on a slow hinge and slams shut. Ooops! Needless to say he missed the black. :-)

                          1. Referees that insist on spotting the colour exactly on its spot, even though there is a definate dip in the cloth or spot that makes it impossible. As a fast player, this infuriates me.

                          2. Referees that move to the pocket before the white is struck.

                          3. People who have been playing for twenty years and still don't know what a free ball is.

                          4. People who keep their mobile phones switched on when either watching or playing a match, just in case bloody Barak Obama calls.

                          5. People who have the perfect angle on the brown to go down for the reds but play the white to the baulk cushion instead.

                          6. F*cking squeaky chalk.

                          7. People who rattle the loose change in their pockets just as you're about to strike the white.

                          8. People who drop their chalk on the floor just as you're about to strike the white.

                          9. Basically referees and other people. I think I'm a bit of a misanthrope really.

I can't believe I forgot one of the biggest ones!

You're patiently waiting for the guy on the next table to play his shot, as he's in your way.

You watch as he plays his shot (usually fairly hard) and get gradually more annoyed as he insists on standing in the exact same position – right in your way – to watch the complete outcome of his shot.

Just move out of the way! The balls will do the same wherever you watch from!

I would say that's common amongst most players, and i have been guilty of it too, especially when its a very tense situation in a match, you are so focused what is going on on the table you don't think of anything else.

                                Just my opinion anyway..
