uk 8ball cue tips, blue diamond tips

I currently use a blue diamond tip on my 8.5mm cue and i play uk 8 ball.
I have found that the blue diamond is really soft and does not retain its shape very well. What tips should i use? I like hard tips I've noticed pro granite have good reviews, does anybody have any suggestions or recomendations?

go with the word on the street man. hard to go past a pro granite if u want a hard tip that retains shape. otherwise, u cld look into the laminated tip market. but the cost of a tip will quadruple and to b honest, i think it might b a touch hard for pool.

yeah a think I will probly give the pro granite a try. I dont think I will ever use blue diamond tips again, I am suprised at how bad the one i currantly have on my cue is.

Also i was thinking could the sand paper I am using to shape my current tip be to rough, maybe it sperated the fibres abit to much causing the tip to go really soft ?.

ive heard that only 1 in 4 tips out of the boxes are truely good tips i dunno how true this is...

pro granite is great for 8 ball if you like a hard tip. id strongly recoomend it although i have no experience with laminated tips

I use a Talisman M in 9mm for 8 ball.I have not had any problems with it being too hard,in fact my playing/practice partner has just switched to Talismans to.They are expensive but they do retain shape and last a long time.

thanks for the advise everyone, i will order some pro granite from ebay and see how they work out, hopefully they will be good and it will save me forking out £15+ for a layerd tip.

Talisman pro soft is the best tip for 8 ball, it takes a while to get use to over spin on cue ball, but if it is set in place it will be good for atleast a year playing 3 times a week. Note I keep my tip on my 8 ball cue a little bit taller than on my snooker cue.
I break with a house cue not my playing cue. If you break realy hard on a layerd tip that is a bit tall it will de laminate. If you only stroke and not force it it playes perfect. Use it or not it is what works for your style
