It should come off if you carefully peel it with a sharp blade. Wouldn;t do any damage, Varnish protects the wood pretty well.

nail polish remover will remove superglue and not damage the varnish finish on the butt.

The superglue won't damage the varnish finish so if it's not a problem on your grip or the appearance then no problem
