  • how to clean my cue???

i was wondering how to clean my cue as it starts to rub on my bridging hand after a while of playing. Waether I need to just use a damp cloth and start below the biaze and finnish before you get to the splice is what i assume is what is correct. or will that ruin my cue? Or is there a super cue pledge out there somewhere?

    Cheers Jon

H i mucka just get a damp cloth and give it a rub down , and then polish it with a dry cloth , works a treat .

I usually carry a cloth with talcum powder rubbed onto it .

If you do use a damp cloth, make sure you wring most of the water out, you want it so it's almost dry, buff it dry with another cloth/cue towel afterwards. Also, wash your hands with hot water and soap, after playing for a while the hands can get a bit clammy.

        Cue Care

See the following websites on information:
        http://www.handmadecues.com/info/20-cuecare.htm
        https://www.parriscues.com/home.html

I frequently use the aforementioned method of damp cloth, rub dry immediately and then apply raw linseed oil, allow to dry then buff method to maintain my cue with great results.
But also (as per Mike Wooldridge's site) always play with clean hands, and rub (with dry towel) the cue down before putting away after a match.

If the cue is extremely rough and dirty many cue makers, including the above two, can refurbish the cue, for a relatively small cost.

        Hope this helps

Cleaning the cue with damp cloth is an excellent method of cleaning the cue and makes it nice and smooth. I wouldn't trust using any cue cleaning liquid or any other substance to clean my cue!
