'Play' in the Newcastle and Gateshead league, same as Mick142. I've just re-signed after 5 years but my knackered back has stopped me playing this season (on physios orders, the *******:-)). Last time I played there were 2 divisions and 30 teams, now there's 1 div of 14 teams and most of the players over 35, very depressing:-(

Alf Nolan, winner of the English Amateur in 1950 and now 85, still plays in our league, which is brilliant IMO! In fact Mick142 has drawn him in the singles. My money's on Alf!!:-)

Is there only one league which covers the whole of the Southampton area? If that's right, what's the furthest you have to travel on any league night? I'm asking because in Newcastles surrounding area there are 4 leagues altogether but they tend to keep to their own part of the city to avoid travelling costs.

Don't forget we're still in the recession from the 80's up here!!:-)
