I was playing a friend a few days ago and we were on roughly the same score. I pot a tidy red but lose position slightly on the colour I was going for and end up with a difficult choice. I choose to play a tricky brown as it would lead it me on for a red rather than take the blue (off it's spot) and be on nothing.
I pot the brown but in the process of putting the white 'around the houses' the cue ball canons into the pink and goes into the pocket. I believed that because I had nominated the brown and it went in off the pink i should have given 4 points but my opponent was insistent I owed him 6.
Who was right?
