  • That Ding Foul

In tonights PL match where Jimmy White slaughterd Ding, what was Paul Collier thinking it wasn't a foul, he said the white hit the cue twice when it didn't

Yeah, it wasn't a foul. But referees are only human and make errors. Always unfortunate when they do, though. I guess it just wasn't Ding's night, in any respect.

Pauls a great referee, but to most folk watching hed got this call wrong. i think he did too, as did Ding.

Surprised the players never discussed the foul call there and then.

I've seen it happen before when a ref called a foul and the player said 'No it wasn't.' and then the referee went 'Oh, alright. Play on then.' I think it happened with Matthew Stevens. And we all know that bloke is honest as can be.

yeah, seen it happen a few times.

usually the players (and the ref) agree to let it go among themselves

wonder what the exact ruling is on this?

I'm sure the rule is that the ref has final say. But he's allowed to listen to the players, I suppose. I think it's the same when a player calls a foul on himself, if the ref hasn't seen it.

Collier called a push stroke on Ding but it wasn't, as clearly shown in the slomo.

                      5-1 to White (vs Ding)
                      5-1 to Davis (vs Hendry)

would it be the sign of a bad loser to suggest that anyone scoring highly from those results in the prediciton contest are probably not doing that well so far?
