  • Kamui tips?

    Hi all
Friend of mine has just put one on and insists it has help his game. Apparently they hold chalk better and help with the strike, does anyone use them and are they really worth the money?
    Many thanks

They are a good tip but after they have settled they need a light scuff now n again as they lose some of their chalk retention unless you use dark green triangle chalk .

Whether they are worth the money is down to what the individual thinks .

I must admit I have put one of these on my cue, and although my cueing action is nowhere near as reliable these days as it was I am not convinced about these tips. I thought it would be great if they hold more chalk, but my experience suggests the opposite being true - at least compared to a more normal blue diamond or Elk tip.

As the previous poster has said - it seems you have to regularly scuff them a bit to enable decent chalk retention, and for me I don't personally find that their claim of it being easier to impart spin on the white to be true - having said that it could be my cueing action letting me down, but have to be honest and say for me I am not too impressed so far. Also they do seem to be very hard and lack some feel.

The other slight disadvantage is that if you badly miscue the white - say going for a deep screw you tend to end up with a nasty black spot or mark on the white which is difficult to clean off easily. Please feel free to ask more questions if you wish.
