  • Snooker clubs - south london

    Hi Guys,

Does anyone know decent clubs around the south london area. The nearest club I know is Rileys, Victoria, takes me about an hour to get there. I have a pretty hectic week (10-14 hours a day at work) so a saturday or sunday is what I might be able to manage. I am in crystal palace

I play a bit of pool and played some snooker about 10 or so years ago so you can imagine how bad my technique etc would be. I am therefore considering some coaching, money is an issue but coaching would be the only sensible thing to do if I am to improve my game. I don't know any gaming partners but I guess I can always walk in and ask around for a frame at a club.

    Thanks :snooker:

There used to be a good club in Power Rd Chiswick/Gunnersbury W4.

I went to a meeting a couple of years back, at Jimmy White's club opposite Morden tube station. That seemed to be quite nice.

I was there recently, didn't like it or the staff.

what area are you in? If near Epsom/Sutton our league has a few smaller clubs that are worthy of use that I would recommend. As for the bigger clubs, I find it difficult to find anywhere that runs a club properly and at a reasonable price. Any millionaires out there that want to invest in me running a club for them with decorum, properly maintained tables, no drunks allowed, competitions etc please let me know!!!

Can you PM me the clubs you'd recommend. I'm in Epsom and I'd like to try a few. I'm also looking to get into a league team at the start of the next season, whenever that is..

If only I had the cash, I'd take you up on that offer!

Epsom conservative club and Epsom club both have good match tables (they are opposite the fire station) West Ewell has a nice room, Rhodrons club has some quality players in their midst, but tends to sometimes be a bit noisy (hard of hearing oaps) and Surbiton club has arguably the best players in the local league and a beautiful club. All will need you to join as they are private clubs so it is best if you know someone.Good luck.

Thanks. Is knowing someone who is a member a requirement for joining? I'm from New Zealand, been here almost 4 years now, but I don't know anyone at any of those clubs. I am quite happy to join as I'm likely to be there 2-3 times a week playing and practicing etc. Rhodrons looks to me less than 5 mins drive from my place Oh, and I'm 31 this year so age is no problem
