flex in the cue

Can anyone tell me which cues are the least flexing - what difference would it make compared to a very flexible shaft?

You cant really tell until you have tried them , if you,re going to custom oredr then you can ask for a stiff or a not so stiff shaft .

Generally two piece cues from my experience, flex more that 1 piece/ 3/4 piece, especially on the occasional hard shots needed.

I think its normally the other way around muck , The less shaft would usually be stiffer , thats not to say you cant get two piece whippy cues .

It's taken me a long time to find a cue with the right amount of flex. It's just my personal choice but I don't think the cue should bend in the middle at all and should only start to have any noticeable flex in the last twenty inch's. I would agree with hotpot and say that as a general rule 3/4 cues would have less give.

both - and every single cue is diffeent there are not rules about how whippy they are etc.

I agree with Ard, there are no rules as long as the cue is not like a fencing sword it's just a matter of finding what suits you and the way you play the game. Just like weight tip size and so on.

I understand your point - I would like a stiffer cue as mine seems to bend a lot when I hit long shots hard. I do pot a lot of them but having never had another cue I wonder if it would help with accuracy. I have to add that my cue is 15yrs old approx, very light and is slightly bent at some point. I had a 'Cue Craft' Buckingham briefly bought off Ebay - didn't realise it was a pool cue 8mm tip and 55inch long. Felt fantastic - heavy and the fine tip didn't seem to stop me from potting long pots, within the balls it felt beautiful.
