I have a custom made Craftsman cue which I brought some 6 years ago now for £160. It has warped a little since then (mainly due to a period when it was locked in a cellar whilst I was on holiday), but still plays 10 times better than any of the Rileys cues I owned previously. I fully recommend them.
Does anyone know how many craftsman cue shops are there in the country?
(Just found out there is only the one, in Kippax, Leeds, 30 minutes walk from my house! If ever anyone is in the area, check it out, they have the best table I have ever played on in their showroom)

Craftsman are good!
If your looking to spend around £150 you'll not do aswell anywhere for the money!
I've been accross there a few times!
I actually bought a cue for a mate from there a month ago!
If that table is the best you've played on Ginger Freak you need to get out more!
I've ordered a Trevor White for myself this week I'm very exited!

Is the world championship a pub in Sheffield then?
Sorry I just don't remember the Craftsman table standing out to me. I thought it was fine but not particularly better than a club table. I have played on a couple of pros practice tables and they do stand out as being very good!
So what were you doing playing at Sheffield they are you a pro?

To be fair I spend most of my time playing around the Working Mens Club circuit and the like, so the standards of tables there aren't exactly world class as you can imagine!
No, not a pro, only had a couple of centuries! I knew Jimmy from when he used to play in my league, so when he was giving an exhibition in the marquee tent outside the crucible last year he asked me for a game!

So then Watford, what have you asked for then and how much are you spending?
I had a cue off Trevor earlier this year but I couldn't get on with it but that's not to say I wasn't impressed with the quality of it. Ironically ADR147 had it off him and sold it on Ebay a few weeks later, I think ADR was very impressed with the cue too!

Oh well I've ended spending more than I intended but it sould be a one off!
I've been having jobs done at the house and the amount of money that keeps going into that black hole has made me a lot less worried about spending on a cue!
£260 It's a one piece, traditional style splicing, Thuya Burr front splice, no veneer.
I'm thinking about having a Macassar (striped) ebony butt but I'm not sure.
I've still got the option he's not started on it yet!

Mike Wooldridge is very well respected!
I've seen a couple of his cues and they looked good but I havent played with one.
He's a bit on the expensive side though but thats all relative!
I could suggest something if I new how much are you were looking to spend!

You could still get a good cue for around £100!
First of all you could get a machine spliced cue from a good maker!
To plug "the teach" billiards boutique from the banner sell peradons and you could get one of those for less than £100.
You could get something from craftsman cues handspliced starting at £120. They are near Leeds they have alot of cues on racks including some second hand cues with a table to try on. They sell online too!
Otherwise ebay!
I've seen some wooldridge butterfly spliced cues from the welsh--pool shop. They also do O'mins which are supposed to be OK!
Oh the green baize shop in the banner do master cues they are good for the money around £150-£200 I would think!
