  • Most exciting match played in/watched

What is the most exciting match you've watched on tv or played in
mine would have to be Ronnie O'sullivan vs John Higgins in the uk semi finals in 2009 ronnie came from 8-2 down or something but lost 9-8. Or Shaun Murphy vs Mark Williams at the same stage in 2010, Shaun was 8-7 up and Mark was potting horrible in terms of long balls but he came back to 8-8 and won 9-8 Mark is my favourite player as well so it was even better.

Anyone would like to share there's

Lots of great matches over the years but it has to be Alex " Hurricane " Higgins V Jimmy " Whirlwind " White in th 1982 World Semis for me. It had everything high drama, great potting & a great comeback, 2 great players at the top of there game, exciting to watch.

The match that always comes to my mind whenever this question is asked, is the 1998 B&H Masters final between MJW and Steven Hendry.

Hendry was 9-6 up, but MJW brought it back to a decider. Hendry was then 22 in front on the brown in the final frame, when he let MJW back in.

I can still remember my heart pounding watching that final deciding frame, Hendry was tight on the rail, and tried to pot the black into the opposite center pocket, but the white ended up in there instead, and it went to a final frame re-spotted black, which MJW won.

        Fantastic match.

(credit to the statman for jogging my memory on some of the detail there)

I'm not surprised, it was a belter.

One of the most exciting matches I've ever seen was the 1985 Masters first round between Alex Higgins and Steve Davis. Both players played fantastic snooker but the incredible shots Alex played and the excitement he generated from the Wembley crowd are why he'll always be my favourite snooker player.

If there is one match that I could watch again & again - from first ball till last - then this would be it.

This is one of my favourites. Though not into snooker at the time it was played, find it well worth watching when time allows.
