  • Ronnie's cue

Does anyone know any information about the cue that Ronnnie was using in the PCT final in Antwerp against Judd T? Makers, dimensions, weight, tip etcetc. It is definitely and ash. cheers

Ronnie has historically always used a John Parris cue, but you do know that by replicating his cue you're not going to start playing like him yeah?
I often use large words I don't really understand in an attempt to appear more photosynthesis.

I doubt anyone other than JP would know the accurate dimensions of Ronnie's cue, I bet even Ronnie himself isn't absolutely sure of the sizes of it. He'd have had a few cues made for him and picked out the one that performed best for him, possibly at a variety of different weights and sizes. I'd bet its not massively outside the usual dimensions, probably around 58", 9.5mm, 17ozs, as are most top pros cues, give or take an ounce or an inch in weight/length. Don't know why people get so hung up on dimensions, its not as if you're gonna play like Ronnie if you had a cue made identical to his!

I believe these are the spec's
            length 58
            weight 18 oz
            butt 30mm
            tip 9.5
            balance 16.5 to 17
Think I got these from parris

It's called interest and curiosity. Of course I don't think I will play like Ronnie. Just because I want someone to exilian Einstein's theory of relativity doesn't mean I think I am gonna be a world famous mathematician.

I don't understand ppl who put members down for asking a simple question. If I asked what football they using the premier league I not saying I going to play like those players if I buy that ball. If I ask what engine Lewis Hamilton using in hi F1 car does not mean I think I can drive like him. I could go on and on. But even if the guy wanted to experiment using Ronnie's spec's where's the harm in that.

+2 - I personally would love to know what all the top pro's cue specs are just out of curiosity.

I am surprised in this modern day that some one has not got this info, today's sport is all about stat's I think that the BBC could make this a feature of the next world championship.

I think one of the reasons that it's so hard to compile such a list is that the top players change cues or have their existing cues altered rather more often than most people think. Very few of them fit the stereotype of having the same cue for their whole careers and many of them are as bad as us at chopping and changing their cues.

It would take a pack of 3 dedicated Paparazzi types just to keep tabs on what cue Dominic Dale is using for example!!

                            spec was

                            58 1/8"
                            9.4mm
                            18.3oz

but ronnie is a fiddler with specs etc.
