  • New Cue?

    Hi All,

I'm looking to buy a cue and naturally have arranged to go to SE23 next weekend to place my order.

Has anyone got any other brands to suggest? I already own a Parris, but if there are any struggling cue makers out there I could give them a go.

    Thanks.

From what I have seen, I think cue makers are all doing good business at the moment, so would not say "struggling"
Other makers for you to consider:
Trevor White (Trev1 on this forum, no website)
Mike Wooldridge (on TSF and www.handmadecues.com)
    Robin Cook (www.robincues.co.uk)
    Mastercraft Cues (www.mastercraft-cues.co.uk)
    David Coutts (www.couttscues.co.uk)
    Craftman Cues (www.craftsmancues.com)
    Aurora Cues (www.auroracues.com)
    Andy Travis (on TSF)

There are many others but the above is a good list to start seeing what is out there other than Parris.
There are many other threads on this forum about buying a new cue and cuemakers so a quick search will hit a lot that can give you information and views on these cuemakers.
Also note that there are a couple of Parris cues on sale at the moment, as well as others that may hit the mark for you.
ps, the order of the list does not reflect my personal opinion as to any preference.

All the best on your cue purchase(s), you have certainly come to the right forum

    cheers
    Up the TSF! :snooker:

      what dean said.

I would add, if you dont want a long wait period, you could buy from places which stock cues such greenbaize or craftsman. ADR147 on here will have something for you.

Thanks for all the replies, some very useful info there. Might take me a while to look through it all!

There is actually nothing wrong with my current cue - far from it, it's perfect. But I predominently play English pool and the Parris I own has a 7.8mm tip which is far too small for snooker. Hence the need for one with a bigger tip.

I have recently started playing a lot more snooker and my first tournament is next weekend. The first of many I hope(!). At the moment I borrow a friend's cue for snooker but can't do that for ever so really need to invest in one of my own.
