By the late eighties VCR's were pretty common and someone must of videoed them.
You could try Youtube. There are many matches involving Alex Higgins and lots more.

I think the match in question with Higgins and Rex Williams was the 1986 Mercantile Classic quarter final, which Williams ended up winning. Higgins was apparently in one of his moods throughout the match and made a scene during a post-match televised interview. I recall reading about this recently. Can't remember if it was in an old issue of Snooker Scene or in the interview with Williams in Tony Francis' recently published book.

I remember this incident beechy1212. It was in one of the early frames of their last 16 match in the 1984 UK Championship (Alex won 9-7). In this particular frame, Alex was too far behind to have any chance of winning it so he came to the table to pot a few balls. He missed and the took some balls from the pocket to put one the table to imply he was conceding and Rex quickly came to the table and sternly told Alex that he could only concede when it was his turn (Alex had missed so it was now Rex's table). Alex was not in the least bit fazed by Rex. He politely said OK to Rex - put the balls back in to the pocket - and returned to his seat.
