Tournament table markings?

While viewing some matches on youtube, I noticed what appears to be a white chalk line along the slate drop, defining the side pockets?! Is this something they mark, or is an optical illusion?

I think it is the cameras showing the pile (or lack of) of the cloth or whether it has been brushed and not chalk

it's just the way the light reflects differently around the pockets as the cloth is really stretched at these points.
