Mine has warped about half an inch in 10 years (and I take VERY good care of it).

I would recommend ash - with as straight a grain as possible. A straight grain helps keep the cue fro warping.
Sorry but that is a very sweeping statement that to me is not founded across all maple 1pc cues.

Well not against all maple 1pc cues, obviously. But in my own experience and that of people I know who have used them, evidence suggests they tend to warp more than ash cues.

You are aware a warp can be fixed by any decent cue maker for just a tiny bit of money, right?

I had that impression some years ago too but I suspect that shaft preparation has come quite a long way.

I've had a MW and Unclevit C brand in maple over the last two years and they both struck me as being very stable.

I've been tempted to get one of those too, just to have a look!

it came yesterday less then 24hrs from purchase,
i tried it out and yesterday and played really below par,
i keep telling myself its just because i need to bed the tip in and get used to the weight etc so i think its going to be a long journey to get back to standard,

                just to advise you,
if you do get this cue , you will need a case thats around 48' for shaft as i now have to buy a new case to fit it in.

Hope you settle into your new cue, it can take a little while
Can I ask what is it like to play with a cue with a shaft of 48 feet long?
Also the table must be huge!
                  sorry could not resist it
so your new cue is 48" shaft, and what 10" butt?
That does seem a small butt for the fashion nowadays.
Anyway, hope it works for you

Did you buy a longer than normal cue ??? as the website says "Butt jointed at 12.5" which would make the shaft 45 1/2" on a 58" cue ???
EDIT: maybe you mean the joint sticks out a fair bit on the shaft ehh ??

ill have to look when i go home.
as i said i tried to fit it my old 3/4 case and it wouldnt fit,
with the screw joiner i would need a 48' case.

Yep it's easy to forget the pin, and the cue might be a touch longer than 58". They do vary a little bit I think.
