Have just checked the rules and there are 2 occasions where the player gets awarded the total of the balls remaining:
1) when aggregate scores are in operation.
2) when the frame is awarded to a player under penalty e.g. for ungentlemanly conduct.
It can't have been aggregate scores as pro events don't use aggregate scores but ungentlemanly conduct is a possibility if the concession was made when the conceding player could still win i.e. they did NOT need a snooker. I didn't see the frame in question.
Were snookers required when the concession was made?
