Now if the blue and black are in reverse order, then that would be fine, as the black is the effective snookering ball, as the obstruction closest to the cue ball.

brown and black were next to the black pocket blue near green pocket he intended to bounce the blue in open play leaving the brown covered by the black but under hit the blue so blue rolled in front of the white but he said if u take the blue away cos the black was snookering the brown it wasn't a free ball

In all cases the ball nearest to the cue ball is considered the effecting snookering ball, eg you nominate say pink as your free ball fail to pot it and by chance it rolls in front of the ball on, but should another ball not on,
be between cue ball and ball on, that would be the effective snookering ball so no foul
