  • cue tips please help

    Hi everyone
I am looking for a Extra Super Soft cue tip that is almost like putty
I had a cue which I bought with this putty like tip and it's obviously seen better days now.
I was able to gently imprint my finger nail into the top of the tip, that's how truly Extra Super Super soft it was
Can anyone tell me the possible name of the tip or what brand it could possibly be please, and of course where I can buy them, same or similar?
    thanks
    Louise

Good morning. It's probably a blue diamond of some sort, or it could be a soft Elkmaster as well. There are plenty of dodgy Elks that are soft! You can get both on ebay. If you contact adr147 via this link (click contact member option), he can help you with specific advice about the softest tip available:

Harder than you think is a beautiful thing.

Try the Pool Baron tips (ADR147 sells them on his ebayshop), they are very soft so be gentle when rubbing them down in preparation for gluing
I have one on my UK pool cue, very nice but needs attention quite regularly.

I have some soft original blue diamonds at 9mm. these would do your mates cue.

ADR is the seller of pool baron tips but not sure if he back from holiday. PS - I found that they didnt hold the chalk very well but DeanH likes them so prob worth a try.

Hi thank you ADR isn't selling anything at the moment so he must still be away on holiday or something, do you know when ADR will be back on ebay selling at all?
my friend has been searching for a Extra Super Soft tip like the one I mention above for absolute ages but he's not been so lucky as to find you guys
thanks for your help I'll mention the original blue diamond tips to him anyway and let you know
                  thanks again Louise

Louise, yes I am in the UK
I will have a look when I get home,I am not sure on the size I have, will check that and get back to you.
As mentioned ADR may still be on holiday (his 200 footer in Monaco ) and his ebay shop is closed at the moment.
I have it fitted to a 8.2mm pool cue, and as JJ has said they are not the best at taking chalk but as I chalk every shot I dont notice too much.
JJ-thanks for the vote of confidence

JJ - the original Blue Diamonds you mentioned, are these the "Store room" find from ADR - about 20 years old. Have you tried one yet? As you say they were only 9mm and I have not fitted one yet on the pool cue.

The friend may not find a tip thats as soft as the original, maybe it was just luck how soft it was.

To soften tips, you can use something called a tip pik.

ADR will be back anytime soon from memory.

Some say you should really play with the hardest tip you can get away with
