  • The longest consecutive hours you have spent playing snooker without taking a break?

Just remembered a few weeks back, I played a friend at the snooker club we frequent for 8 straight hours without a break, from around 1pm to 9pm. We didn't even have dinner!

We played 15 frames if I remember correctly. Towards the end my legs felt like jelly and I couldn't even pot a ball!
    A snooker marathon it is.

What is the longest period of time you have played without taking a break, and how did it felt like?
    John Lim

Targets to beat: -line up 63, 78 (Nov 2012)- -practice match 67 (Nov 2012)- -competition 33 (Oct 2011)-

I can beat that by miles mate, lol. In 2009 I broke the world record for non stop snooker play. I played for 51 hours, played 125 consecutive frames, winning 101 and losing 24, it was all for charity and I raised just over £3000. Jamie Carragher and Paul Smith ( Liverpool boxer) gave me a game and I was all over our local Granada News. That's my 15 mins of fame. I wouldn't recommend it without some serious training though, hardest thing I have ever done.
You may defeat me but I will fight you to the very end!!!!

When I was in my late teens and twenties, we often would play for 8 to 10 hours without stopping. Just drinking a coffee or tea and cheese bap whilst playing ........ this would be at weekends and during holidays, as it was work during the week and snooker after work in the evenings.

Can't remember playing snooker for too many hours consecutively but do remember staying on the pool table at the local almost all night long one evening, it used to be winner stays on in the days when it was really popular and managed to see off allcomers from 7pm until about 10.45pm when I finally wilted, just short of closing time, not a bad achievement though as there were some quite talented players around at that time in the area.

As you say, staying on the pool table from early afternoon to closing time was a regular occurance "back-in-the-day".
Aldo it helped that the challenger paid for the frame
But as snooker tends to be more expensive per hour we never really played more than 3or4 hours at any one time.
            Up the TSF! :snooker:

6 hours is about my limit, although this past Tuesday ( just gone ), I played @ 4hrs ( 7-11 ) and by the end of the night I was knackered, I guess the shift at work didn't help. Haha.

Probably 4 hours, and by that point id lost interest in trying to pot balls, i find it gets a bit tedious after around the 2 hour mark. Especially when playing a 4 hander.

Back to my earlier post. I am all done in these days, after only playing four or five frames.

:jaded: And who says snooker doesn't need physical endurance? LOL!

To be honest, I really cannot imagine having the feet to achieve your feat.

Used to play virtually every Saturday for 7/8 hrs , when i only had myself to look after .

Normally play for about 4/5 hours every other Sunday now .
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !
