Am sure the question has been asked before but cant' find it and knowing my luck I'll be refing a game where it happens: -

1) You're on the colours and your pot the yellow and leave the white over the corner bag, then the blue and the pink cover the white meaning its enclosed and you can't possibly get on the green.

What do you do as there is no possible way to hit the green ?

What does the reff call ?

Yeah it's a bit of a silly situation this one. I believe the player has to appear to make an effort to hit the ball on (even if it's blatently impossible). As long as the white is hit with sufficient strength to make it look like a believable attempt a foul will be called but a miss wont be, and it's business as usual from there.

I am certain it's not a rerack, because whatever the player does they're either going to open the situation up or leave a free ball, it's not a stalemate scenario.
