  • World Snooker / Eurosport Live Internet Streaming, any good?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I have tried searching but not really got the answer I was after!

Basically I use sportlemon but the quality is rubbish, the pop ups annoy me therefore am thinking about subscribing to the live streams on worldsnooker.com or eurosport.

so, the obvious question is, are these any good? Are the balls clear and not fuzzy? commentary in English? pop ups? (bored with all the hot local girls in my area and the fact I seem to win the Nigerian Lottery every week!!) do they show the qualifying? Will they show skysports screened events? (Interested in the premier league snooker tomorrow)

    So many questions!!!

I may just shell out a fiver and test it myself for a month but would like to know what peoples views are, thank you....

I have subscribed to World Snooker for 29.99 for the year and am glad I have done so, the live streaming for PTCs and qualifiers is of a good enough quality to watch on computer screens and as they often cover two tables and list who is up on each table you can choose which one to watch or even open both tables in two windows to give yourself that sitting in the middle effect and seeing two tables.

I sometimes wish there was more streaming but they won't stream when Eurosport have the TV rights which is fine when it's on Eurosport but not when they end the snooker to go to their scheduled surfing or skateboarding or tennis programmes, then it's either pay more to subscribe to Eurosport which I won't do or back to lemon.

Best thing for me about the World Snooker streaming is that it is the PTCs and qualifiers so you get to see players you will not see on any TV channel and that is interesting.

£29.99 equals a cup of tea a week so it's good value so far.

The live streams are pretty crap. They are all pop-up ads, the majority of which are for porn.

I'm thinking of signing up to World Snooker, but will only do it if I ever get round to replacing my rubbish internet connection. There's no point being able to watch clear pictures if you can't connect to the internet for longer than ten minutes at a time...

The qualifiers (not ptc's) are much more enjoyable imo in the first 2 to 4 rounds before the crap commentators come in.

Yeah I love watching the qualifiers, saw some good qualifiers for the Wuxi open and can follow exciting talent like Luca Brescel, but the quality is poor so I think I shall just bite the bullet, its only a fiver!!

The streams on hahasport.com are good for me. Watched the smi and final of last weeks PTC without popups. Decent quality, not tv of course but decent.

I think hahasport is one of the channels on sportlemon, it's ok if you watch in the small screen, any bigger and its grainy.

Oh, bits I missed are no pop-ups, commentary for end of comps only usually by Neal Foulds and somebody else, you get qualifiers but not often the pre-qualifiers and they won't stream if an event is televised regardless of what the TV schedule is.

It works out at £2.50/mth for me, if you're going to go for a month or two first check the schedule out and don't pick a dead month.

Been watching on bet365 for free (just a minimum deposit needed). They show pretty much everything, no full screen though.

Yes plus not many of them would lose to Doug Mountjoy over a best of 7,19,25 etc.

Not now they wouldn't but 25 years ago they'd have stood no chance, even if they could have reached the table. And they'll most likely never get to a world final let alone win two consecutive ranking titles in possibly the goldenest era of the game

Well at least that would seem an opinion concurrent with folks who've actually heard of Mark Selby ;-)

I've been very happy with Eurosport player. It's not expensive imo. They stream every camera-table (1 or 2 tables, depending on the tournament), you can watch the same broadcast that's on TV (both Eurosport and Eurosport 2) and you've got the commentary but also the commercial breaks. Or you can watch live-stream, which is available even if there isn't a TV broadcast, that's without commentary and commercials. No pop-ups.

They had a few problems at some stage but it's been good for a while now.

well, so far its a fail of epic proportions.....the test screen on livesport channel via worldsnooker.com wont do anything but spin, myp2p is useless and sportlemon keeps freezing!!! may just go down the pub and ask them nicely......
