I have a question that I was hoping to get some help with.

Im writing a small preview piece about the 2007 World Championship for some college work, and I was just wondering if anyone knows as to whether or not the winners trophy has a particular name?

Well I've done a bit of a google, and I think I must've read that on the wikipedia page about Dennis Taylor. It's referred to as the Joe Davis cup there, but apparently nowhere else. Never believe what you read on the internet .

Statman, what is inscribed on the trophy? I'm prestty sure the then (1926)controlling body, the "Billiards Association & Control Council" is on it, but what else?

I know in the florally bit it says "WON BY" before, obviously, listing the names.

It is initial and surname only, with the exception of Fred Davis and Dennis Taylor, until 1997 and from 1998 it is full first name and surname, with the exception of 'S. Hendry' in 1999.

How about the Challenge Matches are they written there?
