  • TV Camera Angle

With nearly everyone having widescreen tvs now why does TV still show the game from behind the black spot ?

Why not show the table from above with the table filling the screen ?

I have seen this angle used by the bbc for the World Championship very occasionally but I would like to see it used all the time.

Is there an obvious reason why thy don't ?

Probably because it's not natural, it's not the way you see it when you play the game in real life is it ?
Plus you wouldn't see the players walking around eyeing up the shots etc

I like the angle they switch to occasionally on BBC at the moment where it looks as if the camera is a few foot above the bed of the table looking at one of the corner pockets at the black end of the table showing the pack of reds also. Gives you a better look at what's available and more of a player's view.

I think with the technology we have available today then it would be even better if there were some way we could change what camera angle we want to view from our interactive remote control...I would love it if this was an option available to us.....who knows just have to wait and see what develops in the next year or two.
Not played for 3 years and itching for a game....11-3-2017.

As it's on EuroSport it will just be HD but I remember watching last year's shotout final which was in 3D, now that was different
