Draw for the crucible

Has the draw been made for the first round of the cruicible ? As I have understood it at the worldsnooker homepage, it seems as if Ding is going to meet Ronnie O´Sullivan in the first round. Am I right ?

the draw is made once the 16 Sheffield qualifiers are known

although i have to say i hope the draw is better than it was last year when featured on 5live-when that well known snooker personality Joanne Griffiths helped to make the draw-when i believe David Grays name came out twice amongst other cock ups !!!


for those of you who are not familiar- Joanne Griffiths is a world famous BBC Radio 5live newsreader !!

Ding only needs to win one match this year of course; maybe the fact that it will be at a different venue this time will help him!

The final qualifiers are I think on 13 and 14 March (or whatever the nearest Wednesday and Thursday are to that), and the draw will most likely be made at 7:00 the following evening.

It is the twelfth year that the first round draw is being done randomly, the first being in 1996 – before which they were in a predetermined order based on seedings, much as the other tournaments still are.
