Right, that's what I encountered yesterday and I wasn't particularly amused.
Here we go: Player A leads Player B (me) by 33 points. On the table are another 35 points (colours and one red). Right, this is what happened. Player A hit the red really hard and it flew off the table. Of course, this was unintentional but nonetheless, Player A left Player B needing snookers as Player B got awarded four foul points but is now trailing Player A by 29 points with 27 on the table. Ok, unfortunate situation but is there a ruling which allows me to have the situation put back or something. I'd imagine that this shot could be played as a tactical variant, leaving your opponent needing snookers (Let's leave the fact aside that the shot probably isn't the easiest to play, but what do I know about that). Anybody ever encounter sth like this? What are the precise rules for such a situation?
PS: If you are wondering why my questions always contain a deliberate foul or at least an attempt at such, let me assure you, I'm wondering that as well.
