One Piece Vs 3/4 piece Snooker Cues

Would just like to know the various pros and cons of each!

I think they are all fairly obvious

One piece;
pros - better feel thro the shot (debatable)
look better, in my opinion
easier to get a lighter cue
cons - harder to carry around

3/4;
pros - easier to carry around
easier to make a heavier cue
cons - may have trouble with joint later in life, coming loose, going out of line etc

As said basically practicality, 1 piece is more of a pain to lug around. I don't think a 3/4 plays any different to a 1 piece at all. I've played with both on some nights and I've yet to notice any difference in terms of feel of the shot. Yet others will say there is a difference.

All jointed cues have some movement in the joint over the course of their lifetime, its basically the 2 connecting "faces" of the joint rubbing against each other and wearing down over time. Its not really noticeable on a standard 3/4 cue, but if its jointed through the splicing then seeing as the splice is more prominent you will notice it after some time. Steve Davis' old cue is a good example of that.

I'd have to go along with feel and touch being the benefit of a 1pc cue. Why is it so many top pros use 1 pc cues today, its purely for feel and control of the cueball which is vital on the cloths today. Obviously the trade off is the size, they are a pain to carry around but then again 3/4 cases are not that much smaller and are a bit wider so not that much better either.

3/4 cues are probably easier to buy as there are more made or readily available off the shelf. I'd say they can be more powerful because of the natural weight of the solid butt and slightly stiffer shaft but that is not always the case. I've used both but despite playing well with either I just prefer a 1pc as its what I feel more comfortable with.
