  • Original Italian Slate

    Hello,
I'm from India (Goa) buying a snooker table for personal use. I have 2 options of SHENDER PRINCE and WIRAKA M1.
Shender is 4 days tournament used table with chinese slate. WIRAKA is 4 months used table and the seller is saying it has Italian slate. I'm not sure if it is original italian or not.
If somebody can tell me how to identify the authenticity of italian slate then it would be of great help.
    Thanks in advance.

My own table has italian slate - it has manufacturer and origin prints on the sides and it's about 5cm thick.
Incidentally, I took part in moving 9 Wiraka M1 tables to a new venue two days ago. Their slates were 4.5mm and had a Wiraka print on the sides. Don't know where Wiraka are sourcing there slate from, though.

    maybe that helps a bit.

      Thanks Redphex,

If you visit the site www.originalitalianslate.com there you'll see that OIS logo is present on every pieces under the table. What table do you have for your own?

Wiraka do not use Italian slate I don't believe. They source their raw materials from Russia I believe or maybe even China. I would recommend you go with the Shender table as the Wiraka M1 tables do not have a very well made undercarriage.

Sarvesh, good luck with the new table, get some pictures of the install, etc. up on here soon

p.s. I am sure Redphex meant 45mm (not 4.5mm) for the Wiraka slate

yes you need over 10 for greater functionality but you can use photobucket and other similar systems.
