  • Rule question - hitting object ball (red) and colour ball simultaneously

    Quick question - if you are want to pot a red ball, which is slightly covered by a colour ball, and you pot the red but the cue ball contacts the red ball and the colour ball at the same time exactly, is this a foul?

    as per the rules, yes a foul.
    Sec 3 6 Hitting Two Balls Simultaneously
    Two balls, other than two Reds or a free ball and a ball on, must not be struck simultaneously by the first impact of the cue-ball.

    The penalty is determined here:
    Sec 3 10 Penalties
    (c) value of the ball on or higher value of the two balls concerned by causing the cue-ball to first hit simultaneously two balls, other than two Reds (when Red is the ball on) or a free ball and a ball on;
    Up the TSF! :snooker:

        Copy of the rules here: http://www.worldsnooker.com/page/RulesofSnooker

        Well worth a read . . . .
        My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
        I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)
