  • Rules question please

I've just been watching Ding in his match and he played a "dead weight" shot from approximately 10' away. The ball ran true and straight all the way.
My question.....would Ding be allowed to brush the entire length of the intended path of the white ball with his hand prior to the shot to remove any hand marks or chalk marks?

Simple answer Fred is yes. As long as he never touched any balls when doing so then there is nothing to say that's a foul.
Not played for 3 years and itching for a game....11-3-2017.

Cheers warren. I've never seen anyone do it though. I've seen selby brush the table but never for the intended path of the white. Seems strange that no-one does it especially against the nap because I've seen the white deviate slightly playing towards baulk!
