I don’t know if you could get it but ebony dust darkens the grain.

wire brush the shaft to open the grain. I just spray paint the shafts with black spray paint. 0000 wire to finish the shaft removing the excess paint. pennies to do a shaft and you don't need to be a cue doctor to do so.

yes very serious. You do have to finish the shaft with varying degrees of sandpaper thereafter or wire wool but I have done all my cues that way and never had any issues.

damp cloth, open the grain then newspaper, rub the print into the cue then beer mat or brown envelope paper
