  • Wats the difference between tips

Probably a daft question but use should no me by now haha. What is the difference between soft. Medium and hard tips for playability. If a firm tip plays better and holds shape what do the others do ?

Its all about reaction of the cue ball mate and that all depends of the ability of the player, what suit one does not suit all, play it by ear basically.

As Jim has said, it's about trying other variations to find what works best for you, I find soft tips really decent but I have to do so much work to keep them in the right shape its unreal and the last thing anyone wants to be doing is tampering with the tip all the time.

I agree ... I loved the elkmaster tips but had to shape them a lot . I've got a kamui black medium on now and it's great .

I should add then i started using a tip press and the elks are brilliant, holding their shape whilst retaining chalk, can't ask for more than that
