Playing partners, Team A sank the pink leaving only the black, Team B needed (1) snooker (Team B was down by 8). Not being sure if the game was OFFICIALLY over, Team B wanted to try the almost impossible snooker by leaving the white positioned at an inside corner bank and asked that TEAM A continue with the black. They did, then fouled, and Team B sank the black after that, thus winning the game.
But Team A contested, saying that the game was in fact officially over after they had potted the pink. Is there such a rule? We all understood that normally, Team B would concede at that point when Team A had potted the pink, but Team B felt they had the official right to continue on to try the snooker at least once (just for fun more than anything).
We have heard lots of peoples' points of view, but I would like to know about official rules which might apply.
Thanks in advance!
