So what if I was? You might live near it and by giving me some input, end up getting a great deal!

Well i play at 2 different places, but if i was to play only at one, it's probably only 12 hours a week at most, so going by what it costs me now i would say for me personally i would pay no more than £50 a month, but some people play a whole lot more and pay a whole lot more too, they might be happy with 3 times that amount ! ??

if I was allowed unlimited table time I would pay a thousand a year quite happily. That means if I'm on ,no coming off till I'm ready.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

I play at a club, where you can play unlimited as long as there are free tables, it has 3 full size tables and 1 3/4 size. one table is a match table. its not too busy especially in the evening. probably has 25 members and it cost me £12 a week.

          i love it

Personally I would treat it similar to gym membership. It would ultimately depend on what exactly you were getting but somewhere between £60-100 a month

How many members do you divide between four tables?

Have they ever all turned up at once?!! Only half joking..

This is my thinking, changing the crappy model we currently have (sh1t tables, pay as you go and pay too much) and instead have a subscription like a gym.

We have 24 members , there is hardly more than two tables in use

Snooker is defiantly not a cheap hobby especially if you're dedicated to improve your game. Paying for the table is not only half of the expense, it's the diesel getting there also drinks whilst there etc. if you have a pint every 2hr session and do 20hrs practice a week that's another £1600 a year.

It would be interesting to know how much it would
cost to purchase 'x' tables (installed) and then the
rent and utilities as well as money put aside for the
maintenance of 'x' tables and any other additional
costs I have not accounted for. Based on the costs
you of course need to figure out how many members
you would need and how much to charge. Interesting
                        to see the numbers.

This is all subjective - Much depends on what tables you got - what are the playing conditions and what the facilities are like - car parking and stuff like that to consider - Also the price will vary based on where it is in the country I think - snooker down South is far dearer than in the North and naturally in some areas people just don't have that same kind of disposable income as in other areas.

                          Good idea though

Only problem with charging people up front is they will go more often to get their monies worth, so it becomes busier than you would want, and if you have too many members how can you book a table ?? you are bound to get people wanting to go down 4 or 5 nights a week, so how do the others get a game ??
In my club i think we have 30 members max, you cannot book a table, but if you go down and someone already on, they have to come off after their frame, then you go on etc, if you have too many members it becomes a nightmare with only 2 tables !!!
What if you've just racked up the balls for your first frame and someone comes in . Do you only get to play that frame and then you need to come off?

If so then does everyone rotate to like a frame each type thing ?

The club I play at has 17 tables . You pretty much always get one , but the odd time they are all in use . If your on a table , it's yours till you are finished with it . At £3.20 an hours it's not too bad . I go 3-4 times per week for 4-5 hours

The only decent place to play in Vancouver is 30 mins drive from where I live. They bill 11 CAD an hour for practice (~6 quid) and 12CAD or more for 2 players (~7 quid).

However, I just found an Army and Navy membership only legion that has coin-op lights and it works out to around 1.7 quid AND you can drink AT the tables!! (public billiard halls here, you can't. They don't allow booze at the tables!!! stupid archaic laws here). Membership at the legion is 35 CAD (~20 quid) a year. Tables and balls are absolute rubbish though.

Yeah you have to come off after one frame which spoils your rhythm, then alternate when next table becomes free. Most nights it's ok, but weekends can get busier
