I play this all the time now in practice. Chance of potting, splits the reds nice and usually get cue ball around the green. Explained the shot to a player at my club and then got down and played it, potted red and did exactly what I told him. He thought it was amazing lol. Cheers inevermissblue.

In answer to the original question, no it is not a foul to play a cushion first. As long as the cue ball's first impact with another ball is a ball on then the shot is a fair shot.

However, smashing into the back of the pack off the top cushion is frowned upon and considered ungentlemanly, although probably not a warnable offence.

If you are referring to the video I uploaded then you couldn't be further from the truth! That table is without doubt 'the tightest in the world' bordering on unplayable now that the slide from the cloth from new has almost gone. For example...you can't even pot the cue ball down the rail from 12inches away into the corner.

I did like those the Stars in there, though the room between the tables looks narrow if both in use. Anyway, nice tables cut to true Star templates. So, do you hit the first ball with R hand side?!

Wow wee, that sounds horrific , is that the table you knock centuries in on Inevermiss ? Doubt I could make a twenty on that.

I see, just goes to show how hard it is to judge unless you play on it! I'm going to practise that break though, thanks for sharing,

I wish! My highest break on that is only 71. Any reds near the cushion, if not developed are unpottable. I only play on it when Jamie needs a partner. (cope). He's still knocking tons in on it regardless.

But pros need big bags to knock in centuries, I think I will bring down my expected break to ten if you struggle on it lol.
