ok..dont talk about age..its not really important.the most important thing is how to become a pro for people above 21..is there any chances?im from asia..and i guess the only way to become a pro is going to uk where the sport belongs to.like james wattana, ding junhui and marco fu did.if u want to start from the tournament in asia like sea games and asian games..i think it would be very hard..u have to play against those top players from china, thailand and etc..you HAVE to win at least to get wildcard like ding had in 2004.

is there any other way beside PIOS?PIOS can be joined by people above 21?how many matches do you have to win in PIOS before you can play in main tour?

Nardellio I will repeat my post.

PIOS costs £900 pounds to enter the eight events that span over a year so because you live in New Zealand it will cost you a hell of a lot of money. I Know two people who play in PIOS and they are excellent players who can make 100 breaks at will. However they struggle on PIOS because the standard is so high. You trully have to be something special to turn pro as a) you must win something or qualify through an event and b) there are only 96 tour places so its incredibly hard to get a spot nevermind trying to stay on the tour.

To qualify from PIOS you have to reach the later stages of all the tournaments as its based like a league for the top 8 out of 140 players to qualify. PIOS is open to all ages and has players such as Gary Wilkinson, former World Matchplay Champion, and Mike Hallett a Masters runner up.

That is the criteria for turning pro.

            Quick question:

Is it easier to become a pro at Pool than Snooker? How easier/harder?

I'm in Pool/Snooker for something to do during spare time and to win local leagues, tournaments and money as a result

I just enjoy potting stuff, personally. It's a fun game, doesn't bother me if I'm never 'the best in' anything. The feeling of improvement is satisfying as well though, and it's a much more enjoyable game when you can string a few balls together.

but i have a different view.if i decide to do something,i must be able to be the best of it.if i had money on my own,i would sponsor myself to go to uk and at least try my fate in PIOS rather than just playing in the clubs.we won't know our ability if we dont try it.now im starting to collect the snooker dvds, the books and the magazines.is it enough just to be the spectators and enjoy without being the part of it?i love this sport because its challenging and its rare.not many people love and play it here so its nice to be different from others.not like football which is everywhere.

No offence intended, particularly if I'm wrong (in which case you won't have clue about what I'm talking about), but I've had an inkling for a while. Mugello?
