  • Blaine Hendry

    Hi
I heard about this new talent through a friend. Obviously he is Stephen Hendry's son but I don't know much more about him.
Does anyone have any recent information or any recent photos of him as I can't seem to find any anywhere.

I heard he was playing in some tournaments in Scotland (Snooker scene is a wonderful thing). I'm pretty sure he always seems to lose 3-0 or something like that. I suppose there must be some pressure on him to do well, seeing as he's the son of in my opinion, the greatest player ever. I don't know of any photos of him in action, the last time I saw him was at last year's UK final.
Perhaps if he can practice as much as his father, he can start to win some tournaments and progress onto bigger things.

      Hey,

.......and if I remember correctly Blaine was born in October 1996, and that he won his first 'Beginner's Tournament' at age 7 at Spencer's Leisure in Stirling. He's also won a junior tournament as well, and I think Stephen has been quoted too saying that "Blaine is bringing home all the trophies now." And by all accounts a really nice kid, and good young player, and he's also been blessed with Stephen's temperment too.

Dennis Taylor mentioned a while back as well that he considers Blaine to be a future world champion, following in his father's footsteps.

And I should imagine it can't be easy for Blaine sometimes, and inevitable to an extent that he will feel pressurised, but with Stephen's guidance, and continual practice, and support from the fans, I'm sure he will go far, a future young champion.

And wish Blaine well, and loads of luck with his future snooker career...

      Lol......xx

I've heard an interview with Stephen Hendry on youtube where he says that Blaine doesn't listen to his snooker advice. I found that quite funny! Let me see if I can retrieve it!

edit: I found it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pybwr...elated&search= The interview only starts after 1 min! I don't know why but I think it's really funny! Esp. the Chinese interviewer! ("Stephen, you are a high mountain!" LOL ) It's about a year old, tho, but still gives a good insight! And I love the table!

Ive also heard stephen saying in the lines of that his son blaine is putting him to shame bringing home all the trophys with him being a regular winner in junior leagues.

Hopefuly this will spur stephen on for this coming season.!

            hey guys,

ive just joined here, and been looking through all these posts, very interesting techniques and tips and what not.

i, myself play at Spencers in stirling where stephen is based, and wee blaine plays in the spencers juniors - he has got a talent from the game, u can see -very good potter of the ball and his game can only improve over the next few years - wouldnt surprise me if he does become a bit of a sensation like his dad.

Hi rocknroll, nice to hear from someone 'in the know'. I must say when Blaine was show on tv last year he came over as a lovely kid - hope he does well in the game.

Hi there - sorry I can't even remember which tournament it was but it showed Blaine playing and they were talking to him at the same time . Much more knowledgeable people than me who might just know.

Wow this thread has gone quiet!! Surely someone must know where there is a link!

Also does anyone have a copy of the world championship final where Mandy Hendry and little Blaine appeared. It was probably about 1997??

I have a mate from Scotland, who i played doubles with a few years ago plays in the same club as him, sometimes. He said he's well good, and every time he plays Blaine he gets beat (my friend's pretty good and alot older than him too, so obviously Blaine's even better).
Unfortunately I don't know where any recent photos/videos are. I'll ask around.

Had an ask but he said he hasn't seen him in a while.
I'm trying to think of how to find out more information without sounding like a stalker!
