I practise a certail routine every night and there is one thing which I find frustrating. The quality of my potting varies every second night. On say, day 1, I can pot 75%to 80% of my shots. On day 2, this drops to about 40% to 45%. Day 3, back up to 80%. Day 4 back down to 45%, and so on. This pattern repeats itself almost unerringly.
    It is extremely frustrating.
Has any one else had this problem, and if so, is there a solution.
    Regards

Try taking every other day off. You will then play well everytime you go !

      Hi Woofusau

This problem happens in phases to most players... Since it's a practice routine, it's usually good to just ignore it & focus on cue action & technique... This too will pass

Have you considered that you may play badly every other day because you expect to? Confidence is a big part of performance, and if you've spotted this pattern it might have become something of a self fulfilling prophecy. Easier said than done, but go to your next 'off-day' believing that this pattern is in your head and that there's no reason you can't play well every day. As Sam says, focus on the basics and just let the form that you know to be there come through. Pro's and ambitious amateurs manage it hour after hour, day after day, so it can be done.

Had this problem practising yesterday - couldn't seem to pot a thing! No particular pattern involved though. Everyone would have their off days. I think Sam & Robert have the right idea.
          Cheers

            off day

I've been having an off-day for the last month!!! Feel like eating my cue. Hopefully I will find some form soon.
