There used to be a wonderful tournament of power snooker some time ago. Don’t see it from quite a few years. Do we know why it was discontinued?

Lol. I liked the format, especially when the power ball went in and started a 2 minutes adrenaline rush. I guess it did not entertain the public much which led to its closure.

the **** heads in the audience liked it

Shoot Out started at around the same time and has survived and (for what ever reason) is now a ranking event -go figure?!

I think the format itself wasn't that bad. Better than current Shootout.
My problem with it was that table/cloth was very ugly looking. Also it was a napless cloth. You could see that players struggled with it.

We have a couple of tables at my club set up with power snooker cloth, don't ask me why. The cloth is quick, but not napless- still a lot slower than an American pool table. The tables are always the last to get used. I'll have to ask what the story is next time I'm in.
