  • Stephen Hendry's wedding ring

    Greetings,

Someone over our local snooker forum alerted me with the following observation: Stephen Hendry hasn't worn his wedding ring at the snooker table in the past season. Sure enough, I checked the available press images over at Gettyimages (easier to skim through than hours of low quality YouTube videos), and it seems that he is right: the last positive evidence of Stephen wearing his wedding ring was in the 2006 WC (the Nigel Bond match). No sign of it since.

    Anyone has a reasonable explanation?

Well ... he may find it "annoying" when he plays. As simple as that! Ronnie very often does'nt wear his watch ...

It's a conspiracy. I'm tellin' ya. I have no doubt of it. The socks have aligned and won the wedding bands' support. Together with biros, lighters and buttons, they seek world dominance. Watch this space...

Maybe we should get a private detective on the case.

But he's got poodles, so that's okay.

It's the same as a wedding ring, but impractical to take to the table.

Monique: you might be right, of course. He hasn't found it annoying before, though. What's up with that?

                  ADR147: thanks for the info.

Maybe he and his wife had a blazing row

I don't wear my watch anymore because I find it distracting (and I don't have one) but I don't think a ring will have the same effect. I wonder what his wife thinks because if its not on his finger where is it? Precariously ensconced on his dressing room table?

Or maybe he's had it melted down to make ferrules to sell on ebay.

hes been asked about it, and his reply was....

"it can irritate so i dont wear it often"

been asked by this by PM by a couple of users several months ago, and enquired about it back then

as ADR has said, and ill confirm. they are both still together. no story, though a good spot, but some on here spotted it soon after the first time he stopped wearing it in matches

Maybe he got too tubby and his fingers got fat.
