Anthony Hamilton's cue arm

Was watching Betfred qualifiers Antony Hamilton vs James Wattana and was wondering, what is the deal with the armband on Anthony's right upper arm (Cue arm) ????
This is not the first time I have seen him play with that. Is it some sort off tension control ??

it's an elasticated shirt sleeve band to keep his cuff high on his wrist and not interfere with cueing or distracting him

Didn't he used to wear one on each arm, I assumed to keep shirt tight to arm avoiding touching balls on table with his left...
