That's impressive... but how many hours did he put on a table in that month?
That's beside the point. I had a table at my house (6ft) when I was a kiddie and from the age of 7 I played every day after school and all weekend and it took me about bloody 5 years to get a 40 break.
It's all nice everyone giving you advice RocketRonnie but sorry to **** on your bonfire but there's pretty much naff all chance of you making it big if you cant get a 20 break in the reds already. I've seen so many decent players spend 8 hours a day in the snooker hall with their heads full of ideas about becoming a pro and leaving school early only to jack it in after a single season on the uk tour.
Just enjoy it for what it is - a great game that is fun to play. Play your friends and if you consistantly beat them play the better players in the club. You will know pretty soon if you've got what it takes because everyone will want to play you.
What about practicing in the weekends and holidays? But you were doing that, weren't you? You are lucky about having this table in the summer time... Wish I had my own table...
I've been playing snooker for about a month now and my best break is 20 - and I quite often will get red black red black and then mess up on the going into the pack or position for one of the loose reds - something I've got to work on!
The problem is I never get time to practice, I'm at uni now and when at home I have someone to go play with but at uni noone wants to spend that kinda money every week to play! At home I try to play a few times a week so about 10 hours a week in total, I know it's not much, but it's costly!
