  • Drawing snooker diagramms

What programm do you use to draw snooker sketches? I would like to illustrate some of my humble advice on training routines, but don't have a clue how to do it graphically. Is there freeware floating around, or do I have to buy some professional program?

Honestly, drawing with the mouse isn't easy at all and whatever the program you use you might well end up biting your keyboard savagely in frustration . So I would advice to make the drawings on paper and scan them if you have that possibility.
Ilf you look for a free image processing program, you can have a try with TheGimp http://www.gimp.org/. This is a kind of OSS Photoshop. It's fairly complete and powerfull and totally free. But all these programs require skills and a fair understanding of digital image processing as soon as you go beyond the basics.

I've occasionally used isnooker (an excellent free game if you're not familiar). Under the practice menu there's an edit positions option - using that you can set the balls up as you like and then just take a screenshot. You can even save/load positions and play them. Things like Dennis's white lines can be added easily enough with whatever graphics program you use.

If you do use shots from this in posts it's probably wise to mention they're generated by isnooker.

Another option if scale isn't too important is to use weitable. It's built for american pool diagrams but can be ok to get the message across. If they ever come out with a snooker version we'll probably install it on the forum.

Hey thanks alot for your advice. Didn't knew isnooker before; looks awesome. Also the other programms are usefull. I'm looking forward to my first presentation
BTW Biting my keyboard sounds a good alternative to throwing my cordless mouse through an open window, which I once did
