I am 25 years old. Is it too late for me to even consider training in the hope of later going pro?

The reason I ask is that I played a game this week - it was the first time I had ever played snooker on a full size table.

      I made a break of 20.

It gave me such a buzz and I can't stop thinking about the next time I'll play. But if it's so obvious that I'd never even have a chance at getting anywhere in the game, then I won't bother getting serious about it.

What are your opinions? Steve Davis has been going on for years. I know he started young, but he's definately old now. Why would it be so dificult for an older person to get in the game?

Snookers not one of those games where you HAVE to be young to guarantee your going to be good. I played golf since i was 2 or 3 because my dads a professional. I was the best in my country for my age but then I didnt play for a year and I now have no chance of catching up to those I used to play with. Snooker doesnt rely on strength or stamina like most sports. Providing you have a good eye minimal flexibility there is always a chance you could become very good with a little dedication. Granted 25 is probabably getting close to being to old. Who cares tho why not play and get good anyway. Its not a sport thats going to make you super rich even if you are pro but its a good game to play. $147,000 for a maximum break in the champs........thats the best you can do in snooker and u get a lousy $147k. Win 1 decent golf tournament and you get just shy of 1mil...Snookers one of those sports with low rewards for those who make it........
