  • Sticky Cue

During cue action, sometimes i realise that my bridge get sticky and it makes it hard to aim. Sometimes i can even heard the "squeeky" sound from my bridge during cue action.

My friend told me that i could either try to apply some talc/talcum ex. baby talc, powder, but will it damage my cue? Any advise please?

Sorry my English isn't that well.

Damp and dry - get a towel, wet a corner of it, wipe the cue with the damp bit then wipe it dry with the other bit

Although our resident guru has it spot on, we've had some "fun" discussing this before you were a forum member Weng, if you like a giggle and some advice, click on ... http://www.thesnookerforum.com/commu...hread.php?t=80

Welcome by the way, I'm sure your English is 100% better than my Malaysian!! When you have time, post a welcome message in the Newbie section - we're always interested in Global Snooker over here in the Forum.

          Dirt

Remember it's not just your cue you need to clean, you also need to clean your hands. As you play and chalk the cue your hands get dirty from the chalk and the dirt from the cloth. After playing on many tables you will see your hands go green. Clean after every few frames.

you can try using a tower but it is more likely to scratch the cue

Dunno about the rest of the forum members, but a think a cue is too polished is also to detrimental. especially the butt section. I can understand why Jimmy licks his hand to get more grip on the cue.

BTW i make sure my hands are clean but i never clean my cue, does this make me strange?

Not strange at all twiggers, it doesn't take long to pick up dust and dirt from the cloth, a surprising amount of chalk floats down off the tip onto your bridge too. Grubby sweaty hands will layer your cue with sticky grime over time; yum.
When I nip to the toilet in the Club, I take back a folded roll of dampened toilet tissue and rub my cue down when I get back (aswell as washing my pinkies too), some may think a baby wipe in a JR Ink Refill tub in a snooker case is going too far - unsurprisingly, not me.
                    Cleanliness is next to Jimmy-ness.
Happy birthday for tomorrow BTW. (u share with Jackie Chan, Russell Crowe, Francis Ford Coppola, Ravi Shankar, and Victoria "Posh" Adams - couldn't find a nooker player soz [Ravi & Posh separated only by a comma - wow])

                      KFC wipes

Get down to KFC and take a few extra wipes with your chicken....they're excellent for wiping the cue down

I ahve the same problem with my cue so i bought a towel and wash my hands etc and sometimes get the sound you were tlking about. I found that wiping it with a damp flannel and then using the cue towel over a freshly sanded cue does the trick. Its all okay now!

                              New cue soon!!! Yippie!
