  • Snooker head-to-head statistics

I've been trying to find a website with this kind of information for quite a while now. The closest I've got is this and I wanted to ask you whether you have downloaded the pack and how up-to-date it is.
Also, an alternate source would be great. One free of charge would be even greater. Basically what I'm looking for is updated information on the number of encounters between two players in official tournaments, number of wins for each, the tournaments where these encounters took place, chronologically if possible, and scorelines.
Is there such a rare gem somewhere on the internet?
Thanks in advance. And sorry if this question has been asked before.
    S.P.I.L.F.

It may be worth PMing dantuck_7 - I think he may have found this info before - although it may well be the same source as you have found.

The question remains unanswered, at least for me. Although I've found 2-3 sources, the information is either incomplete or incorrect.

Which players do you need H2H for? Send me any requests you may have, and I'll do my best to return the information. If only I knew how to set up a searchable website, I would transfer my massive database into it.

I'm currently playing around with a sort of results database, but I'm just doing it for fun so I might never finish it. If I manage to get something usable I will let you all know. No promises, as my life is a bit of a madhouse right now!

If you guys have the info I can make the database.

We have been discussing this for awhile but the main problems is the lack of data to construct such a piece of software. I started to enter the data a few months back but it was too time consuming for one person to do.

If we have a system where by a select few members of TSF had access to the database to update the information and check updates then this could be a good little resource.

Dan Tuck has a very good database of results already and I am trying to get my hands on the database which World Snooker use form the live scoring system.

Where to start?!... Just give me a moment.
The idea is that it should be a database available for all snooker fans.

Perhaps we can develop a plan to create a "monster" database with the correct results.

Maybe this program (allsnooker.info) can be a starting point? From what I remember it goes back to 1994 with the H2H stats (I'm not sure if those stats are complete).

Are you talking about the new scoring system?
Maybe the database will suffer some changes.

Off-topic: I'm also interested in statistics about pot success, long pot success, safety success. It will be interesting to have this information per-player, per-tournament, per-year. I wish...

Yep, we were going to get something in place this season that could tie in with the ranking lists, unfortunately it never get going due to work and other commitments! It is a shedload of work keeping up with all the results, especially with the 100's of matches now played in the PTC tournaments!

I'm tempted to think that some sort of wikipedia style setup might be the way forward but its still going to take a lot of effort. Any volunteers?! I've got all the results from 1994 to 2008, and I think that The Statman will have all the rest, but its not going to be easy. :-)

Ferret- if you like, I can forward you a copy of my file. it's quite large (9MB) and contains results from every pro event (plus some major amateur events), plus centuries & prize money stats. You can look at it and see if the format/layout is in need of a tweak before publication.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to send a PM on this forum...perhaps I don't have quite enough privileges yet? If you're interested, let me know how I can get it to you.

I have a basic system in place, I'm currently working on finalizing design and finishing it up generally.

What features do people want to see in this?

I can set it up so that one or two people have access and can add results.

Dantuck, in what format are your results?
